Who has the cheapest auto insurance? That depends on coverage

Here’s How I got The Cheapest Full Coverage Auto Insurance for My Birthday

My birthday was actually the same day as my high school graduation. I turned 18 and was ready to take on the world. I just needed a car.

I never imagined that my parents would get me one for my graduation gift. When we got back from the ceremony, though, there she was. My new car, complete with that giant stereotypical red bow, parked in the driveway. I literally squealed with joy when I got behind the wheel. I had a car I could take to school with me in the fall.

Insurance was obviously something we were going to have to work out. The deal was that my parents would make the car payment for me but I had to keep up with the insurance. Since it was a new car and literally my pride and joy, I needed full coverage. That said, I was a new high school grad about to head off to school with only a minimum wage part time job for income. I needed to find the cheapest full coverage auto insurance I possibly could. I started looking for some very cheap car insurance with no deposit for myself, but gave up quickly.

My dad jokingly said that finding the right insurance was his birthday gift to me. We spend a morning sitting at the computer looking into a bunch of different places. Then, we went out in the afternoon to meet with a few different agents.

Thank goodness my dad was with me because I didn’t really know what I needed. He’s not really someone who haggles and laid it out for each agent that we met with. “We want the cheapest full coverage auto insurance possible. We’re meeting with a few people and we’ll go with whoever gives us the best deal.”

So who has the cheapest auto insurance?

I don’t think a few of them knew that he wasn’t kidding. They’d print out the info and run through the fees. He looked at the final number, wrote it down in a notebook, then pretty much immediately said, “Thank you” as he stood up to leave. The first time, I didn’t know what he was doing and reacted a bit slowly, which was awkward. I just gave the agent a little half smile then hurriedly ran after him out the door.

Anyway, it worked. We got a great deal when someone finally responded in just as blunt a way as my dad laid it all out there. Now I had my car and an affordable policy. Happy birthday to me. Next time I have to get insurance, I’ll probably just find some online like here:http://www.whohasthecheapestautoinsurance.com/
